Phil Carter is a mining engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the mining industry with De Beers, AngloGold and SA Chrome. Phil is currently heading up the development of the Everest North Mine Project and the Capital Construction Expansion Programme.
Zoran Marinkovic has worked in the petrochemical, shipping and mining sectors in Europe in and has researched and consulted in the areas of chromium waste and tailings. Since January 2006, Zoran has been responsible for developing and controlling chromium and platinum group metals (PGM) projects in terms of Sylvania’s contract with Samancor Chrome.
Christo De Vos is admitted as an attorney, notary and conveyancer in South Africa and was a senior partner at Wessels & Smith, a law firm in Welkom, South Africa for 28 years specialising in commercial and mining law, trust law, estate planning and tax law, before being appointed by Sylvania Resources Limited as legal and commercial executive adviser. Christo has vast experience in black empowerment transactions, and acts as a trustee for several black empowerment trusts and employee incentive schemes.
Louis has 40 years’ experience in the accounting and commercial disciplines. He has held a number of board appointments in listed companies including chief operating officer of a resource company. He has worked in several industries, including mining, oil and gas, property, bio-manufacture, contracting, processing and printing. His responsibilities have included company secretarial, general accounting, tax, finance, project management and corporate restructuring. He has had involvement with listings and rights offers for a number of companies listed on the JSE and the London, Toronto and NASDAQ stock exchanges.
Grant Button, a Certified Practising Accountant, has over 14 years’ experience at senior management level within the resources industry. His roles have included those of executive director, finance director, chief financial officer and company secretary in a range of publicly listed companies. In addition to his considerable experience in capital raisings, and in negotiating and finalising the acquisition and disposal of companies and project assets within the resources sector, Mr Button has considerable expertise in financial reporting and compliance and risk management, as well as other corporate governance matters.
Peter Stevens is a chemical engineer with over 15 years experience in the metallurgy field. He has considerable expertise in management, process optimization and production, maintenance planning and cost management of reclamation operations.
